When I stumbled out of film school, in that weird limbo age when video was crap and digital was expensive, I realised it was pretty much impossible to make my own films - but I also understood that it was entirely possible to make my own paintings. So that's what I did for the next two years. And I didn't stop until someone asked if I could make them move. Apparently, if I could, they'd give me a job. And thus started a career in post-production...
These are some from 1998... Chicago days ... all drawn in photoshop... not using in photographs in any way - all drawn completely from scratch, from my imagination. They're mostly portraits of friends, girlfriends (and friend's girlfriends!).

13 years after making the digital originals, I started recreating some of them in arylics on wood...

Misbehavin' (2011)
This painting is stupidly large - I can't even get out of the studio - oops!

Endure (2011)
This one's not exactly small either but at least I can get it out the door...

and just as well it could fit out the door as it was exhibited at the Sound of Mu in Oslo in April 2012 and actually got reviewed - apparently it 'glitters with meta-humour' ... I'll take that... :)
These are some abstract ones that were exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in 1998 as part of the 24 hour Bright Spot exhibit, showcasing new digital art.
